The inaugural South East Asia Property Awards 2011 will take place in Singapore on Wednesday November 30th and leading TV news network Channel NewsAsia has confirmed its official International Media partnership.
Channel NewsAsia, part of MediaCorp, is available in more than 30 million homes and hotel rooms in 25 territories across Asia and is the most watched news channel in Singapore with over 60 per cent market share. Their involvement with the South East Asia Property Awards will not only promote the event across its network, but also increase exposure for the winners as well as the event's sponsors and partners.
“We are happy to be co-organiser of the inaugural South East Asia Property Awards to honour the best talents in the industry, and to play a part in explaining to viewers the stories behind the growth of the regional real estate industry, and the many opportunities these present to the world,” said Ms. Debra Soon, Managing Director of News at Channel NewsAsia, MediaCorp Pte Ltd.
Ms. Soon noted that Southeast Asia’s residential properties belong among the most beautiful in the world and that Channel NewsAsia has featured many of them in its programmes. She also mentioned that it’s essential to feature growth in the luxury market, not only hard news, to portray Asia’s true story.
"It’s an important sector in the overall growth of Asia, and we reach key decision makers and affluent adults all over the region,“ Ms. Soon said. "Featuring the growth of the luxury market in property but also in many other areas, is important to capture stories about Asia.”
“This is great news for the South East Asia Property Awards and regional real estate in general,” Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media said. “We recognize CNA’s market leading position locally and its significant international reach in territories such as China, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan, which will ensure that our winners are widely known throughout Asia. CNA is a dynamic and forward thinking media partner that we look forward to working closely together with to promote the best of South East Asian real estate.”
“We see the South East Asia Property Awards as one of the many projects we can work with committed partners in the region, who have a stake in one of the most dynamic regions in the world,” Ms. Soon added. “The partnership is also a business partnership, which we hope to further and develop as we expand our reach over the years into more territories in Asia.”
Ensign Media launched the first ever South East Asia Property Awards to recognise the crème de la crème of the region's residential real estate industry. It follows the success of the annual Thailand Property Awards, now in it's sixth year and the company is confident that the South East Asia Property Awards will equal or surpass the success of the Bangkok event.
A panel of real estate experts, including Nick Candy, the billionaire developer behind London’s uber-luxury One Hyde Park development, will sit on the judges panel that the will select the winners to be announced at a lavish dinner in Singapore on November 30.
“When someone like Nick Candy agrees to join the judges panel, it is a sign of how seriously real estate in the region is being taken by the international property industry,” Mr. Blackburn added.
