BOSCH’s new steam generator not only has a great new shape, but is also a brilliant mix of style, power — and environmental friendliness.
The compact, stylish white and deep-violet mid-range design (RRP £199.99) sports a 2,400W iron and a generator unit capable of creating steam at 5 bar pressure, to drive through stubborn creases with ease.
But the latest member of Bosch’s award-winning irons family also leads the field for the green generation with a special “eco” feature.
Press the special eco button and clever energy management allows the TDS2021GB to use up to 25 per cent less power and 40 per cent less water — without losing its crease-busting ability!
That’s aside from two great steam features: one is the ability to pulse steam at a powerful 160grams a minute; the other is a neat action that gives three intensive bursts of steam whenever the trigger is double-clicked — to power through the toughest creases.
The unit can also produce copious amounts of steam — at up to 110g/min — when held vertically, making it great for steaming suits, curtains and other hanging items.
That’s on top of the features that have made Bosch steam generators among the biggest sellers on the market, like optimised steam distribution through the soleplate — which itself is made from ultra-smooth ceramic material for easier, faster ironing. (An optional fabric-protection soleplate cover is available which protects delicate fabrics and avoids shiny patches on dark clothes).
Other great features include the two-minute warm-up time; the large water tank — which can be refilled while the unit is in use; the removable, non-slip iron pad, variable steam regulation and 1.8m hose between base and iron for extra reach.
There are great maintenance features too: “tank empty” and “steam ready” indicators; an anti-scale opening to help cleaning in hard-water areas, an illuminated on/off button, 2m power cord (with handy cable storage) and an anti-slip base,
And when you don’t need steam, the TDS2021GB doubles as a great dry iron too!
