The DEA GLOBAL 7.10.7 CMM with serial number 1,000 was delivered from Turin, Italy to Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH in Denklingen, Germany. The company uses the CMM to measure un-machined and pre-finished parts for the automotive industry such as injection systems or parts for drives and gear units. The order was finalized by a visit of employees from Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH to the Hexagon Metrology factory in Turin at the end of July where DEA measuring machines are being developed and produced.
Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH has relied on DEA GLOBAL CMMs already for a long time: "For more than 20 years we have been working with Coordinate Measuring Machines of the DEA brand", says Dieter Wahl, Manager QM-Technology at Hirschvogel. "In total more than ten DEA GLOBALs are used in our factory in Denklingen. With the CMMs we measure parts parallel to production in air-conditioned measuring rooms. In addition we are also using many other machines from Hexagon Metrology."
Currently, Hirschvogel is also changing from older software versions to QUINDOS 7. The new version of this measuring software supports the measuring strategy of the company: "At our factory the employees from production measure the parts. This means that we have to create easy-to-understand measuring programs. As an example with the new software we are able to embed videos in the program. Thus, we are able to visualize the measuring process even better", explains Wahl.
Hexagon Metrology not only pushes forward its software development. In the meantime also the DEA GLOBAL range of CMMs has been advanced. Since July 2011 the new DEA GLOBAL Silver models are available which offer improved scanning performance and other advantages.
