Iofina Chemical of Covington, Ky., a technology leader in iodine-based derivatives manufacturing antiseptic and antimicrobial products, has appointed Viachem, Ltd. (“Viachem”) to exclusively represent its Chloramine-T in a sales and marketing capacity throughout North America. The major markets for Chloramine-T are the aquaculture industry and hydrotherapeutic markets. Iofina Chemical is the only U.S. manufacturer of Chloramine-T.
Chloramine-T which is used outside the United States as a disinfectant can be used for many different applications such as an algaecide, bactericide, germicide, parasite control, and for water disinfection. It is highly effective against all bacteria, viruses and spores.
In aquaculture and aquafarming industries, Chloramine-T is used to treat external bacterial infections in salmonid fish such as koi, salmon, trout, and whitefish. In the personal care industry, Chloramine-T is used in hydrotherapy treatments to revitalize, maintain, and restore health.
