Siena Heights University’s first ever home football game will be played on Oct 8th on the new state-of-the-art FieldTurf Revolution synthetic turf system. Not only will SHU be launching a new reinvigorated football program with the most advanced synthetic turf on the market today, they will also be unveiling the revolutionary BSS 2000 track and field surface from Beynon Sports Surfaces. For the first time in their storied history, the Saint’s athletes will be able to compete in front of a home crowd when they host the inaugural Don Kelinow Invitational in April.
“No one has ever gotten to see our kids compete,” said longtime SHU track coach Tim Bauer. “That’s been the hardest thing for me. We’ve had a good program, some good kids, some Olympic guys, and nobody got a chance to watch them compete. We’re excited to host some meets and let everybody see what we’re about.”
The innovative high performance BSS 2000 track and field system by Beynon Sports Surfaces can be found at some of North America’s most prestigious universities, such as Auburn University, Oregon State University, University of Kentucky, Southern Illinois University, the University of North Carolina and the University of Oregon, to name a few. With the BSS 2000 track and field surface, which is designed and manufactured for both optimal competitive performance as well as daily training, the sky is the limit for Sienna Heights University’s track and field athletes.
“It’s very humbling to know you’re part of this university’s history,” Siena football coach Jim Lyall said. “I know how fortunate I am. We’re investing so much into it, and we really want to do it the right way.”
