NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, 2011/08/08 - Ron Styles, SaskTel President and CEO, announced that members of the Communications Energy & Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) have voted in favour of ratifying a new collective agreement at SecurTek - SecurTek.com / SaskTel.com.

"We've very pleased with the ratification of this agreement, which provides SecurTek and its employees with stability and security in a dynamic and competitive industry," said Styles. "We will continue to work together in order to provide SecurTek customers with excellent customer service."

The terms of the proposed deal include a 5.5 percent general wage increase over the first three years of the agreement, an additional .5 percent general wage increase in year three in consideration of negotiated efficiencies and a 2 percent general wage increase in year four of the agreement.

SecurTek and the Union also agreed to an increase in contributions to the Public Employees Pension Plan of .25 percent in year three of the agreement.

The CEP concluded voting August 4, 2011. The current collective agreement expired December 13, 2009. The new agreement will be for a four-year term ending December 22, 2013. Highlights of the agreement include:

• Retroactive to December 14, 2009 all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 1.0%
• Retroactive to December 13, 2010 all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 3.0%
• Effective December 12, 2011 all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 2.0%
• Effective December 12, 2011 pension contributions shall be increased by .25%
• Effective December 10, 2012 all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 2.0%
