GuestLogix, Inc., the leading global provider of onboard store technology to airlines and the passenger travel industry, announced today that it has successfully deployed its OnTouch® Box Office merchandising platform onboard a leading global airline’s international carrier network. This is the first of 13 programs the Company has set to ‘go live’ by the end of the fiscal year, representing a significant revenue growth opportunity for both GuestLogix and its airline customers.
“The launch of OnTouch® Box Office demonstrates the continued progress we are making with our merchandising platform,” said Tom Douramakos, CEO of GuestLogix. “This deployment features a range of new and exciting destination-based attractions and entertainment, creating new ancillary revenue streams for our airline customer. We are extremely confident this new offering will be received positively by the airline’s international travellers.”
Beginning today, OnTouch® Box Office offers the airline’s passengers travelling to destinations such as London, Singapore and Sydney the convenience of securely buying tickets to popular local attractions and entertainment from the comfort of their seats. Through OnTouch® Box Office, the global carrier will offer travelers exclusive access to a variety of coveted entertainment brands that are currently not available in-flight, or through another carrier. The global carrier will add additional cities and attractions through OnTouch® Box Office on a scheduled quarterly basis.
“At a 1% passenger take-up rate, we estimate the potential annualized Gross Transaction Value of the program to be $45.0 million,” continued Mr. Douramakos.
Ticket prices for the attractions range from US$25.00 to US$115.00. Using GuestLogix state-of-the-art handheld point-of-sale (POS) devices that print ticket vouchers, the airline can enable passengers to purchase tickets quickly and easily, via credit or debit card, from the comfort of their seats.
“Our OnTouch® retail technology and merchandising platform enables airlines to create potentially lucrative branded onboard retail stores and exciting shopping experiences,” added Mr. Douramakos. ”By augmenting their onboard retailing initiatives, our airline customers can drive further ancillary revenue growth, while also developing deeper passenger engagement and loyalty by enhancing the overall travel experience.”
