Michelle Livingston was honored by Inside Tucson Business for contributions to her field and in making a difference in business and in the community. Since 1999, Ms. Livingston has been overseeing marketing, advertising, public relations, graphic design, promotions and the company website as the Marketing Director for Buffalo Exchange. Ms. Livingston draws national attention to Tucson business by contributing her media relations skills to the success of Buffalo Exchange, one of a small number of companies headquartered in Tucson, with 28 stores and 4 franchises in 11 states, and $40 million a year in sales (as of 10/06). She has been instrumental in updating Buffalo Exchange’s image from that of a regional entity to a national player. Demonstrating that environmentally friendly Tucson companies can positively impact national charities, the Earth Day benefits Ms. Livingston organized at Buffalo Exchange stores raised $152,275 (2000-06) for The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and others. Ms. Livingston promoted and organized Buffalo Exchange’s participation in The HSUS’ Coats for Cubs program (2006), collecting 873 used fur coats as bedding for orphaned and injured wildlife, more than half the total number of furs donated to The HSUS in 2005.

Since Ms. Livingston orchestrated Buffalo Exchange’s switch to in-house advertising and design, the company has won a total of four silver ADDYs and six bronze ADDYs from the Tucson Advertising Federation (2004-06). Buffalo Exchange swept the consumer regional/national mixed media campaign and web/online campaign categories (2/18/06).
