The perpetual licensing model is offered for the NetVault product line along with the company’s standard licensing model, allowing customers to choose the licensing program that best suits their needs.
• Traditional licensing models for enterprise backup and recovery solutions often lack flexibility and are burdensome for customers. Quest’s new capacity-based licensing option provides a flexible model based on price per terabyte (TB), matching the way most customers view backup and recovery, and affording them the budget predictability they need to get the most out of their investment.
• The capacity-based pricing option will deliver customers, prospects and partners a purchasing model that provides freedom from node lock-based licensing, and gives them the flexibility to deploy a wider variety of products at no additional charge, including application plug-ins.
• The new licensing model includes a perpetual license and first year maintenance, as well as a choice of support plans, and is available for all of the NetVault Backup product line, media management, and most instances of the NetVault Bare Metal Recovery solution. It does not apply to NetVault FastRecover.
• The new licensing model also applies to all NetVault Backup application plug-ins, which cover leading applications such as Oracle, SQL Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint, MySQL, VMware, and Hyper-V.
