Genworth Financial teamed up with Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, Inc., a Triangle-area non-profit that performs home repairs for low-income homeowners. This is the third year Genworth Financial has partnered with Rebuilding Together of the Triangle as part of their annual commitment to community service. This project was focused on renovating the home of a long-time nursing assistant who lives in Southeast Raleigh. Genworth provided volunteers and funding to make substantial and necessary home repairs. Rebuilding Together coordinated and managed the project.
The Genworth team replaced siding, soffits, and fascia that sustained water damage from a leaky roof that was replaced as part of the Rebuilding Together project. The volunteers also made repairs to a sliding glass door, and re-caulked and painted the trim on all of the windows. Gutters were added to prevent future moisture damage to the house. These repairs and renovations ensure the homeowner can continue to live in the home in safe, healthy conditions.
“Once again, our community and Rebuilding Together have benefited greatly from the extraordinary efforts of the Genworth Financial team,” said Wayne Maiorano, Chair of Rebuilding Together of the Triangle. “Their continued passion and commitment to serve our community is remarkable. With their help and hard work, we have been able to restore warm, safe, and dry conditions to the homes of many needy homeowners.”
“Genworth is in the business of helping provide affordable, sustainable home ownership,” said Kurt Arehart, Volunteer Leader of Genworth Financial in Raleigh. “Projects like this really hit home for us. We’re proud to continue our partnership with Rebuilding Together of the Triangle.”
Rebuilding Together Triangle continues to generate support for low-income families, who oftentimes are elderly, disabled, members of the military, or veterans and their families, by providing home repairs, improvements or modifications at no charge to the homeowners.
