Reading, United Kingdom, 2011/06/15 - Acision, announced that Orange Botswana is deploying Acision Multi-VAS (Value Added Services), meaning the operator can consolidate a number of its services, including voice, text and multimedia messaging, onto one single platform.
Acision, a world leader in mobile data, today announced that Orange Botswana is deploying Acision Multi-VAS (Value Added Services), meaning the operator can consolidate a number of its services, including voice, text and multimedia messaging, onto one single platform. This will enable Orange Botswana to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) of its infrastructure while at the same time driving service innovation and gaining an enhanced level of flexibility in its network. Acision Multi-VAS incorporates a broad range of Acision solutions including its SMSC, MMSC, Acision HSP and elements of its real-time charging and active mediation portfolio. In addition, Orange Botswana will also be able to leverage various new Person-2-Person, Application-2-Person and Person-2-Application messaging services.
The advent of multi-VAS offerings presents service providers with a unique set of opportunities to enhance service management and innovation. As existing value added services continue to evolve and new ones are developed, the network architecture must, in turn, develop to maintain compatibility with this pace of evolution and growth. Acision Multi-VAS (acision.com), effectively provides a future-proof architecture, which will enable Orange Botswana to launch new services in a carrier-grade environment while simplifing and centralising the operational management including alarming, analysis and reporting of services. This not only drives operational efficiency but enables the operator to expand the architecture in order to accommodate new features and functionality in the future.
Isaac KETLHOAFETSE, IT Manager Orange Botswana, commented: “As we continue to roll-out new and evolved services, it is imperative that our network architecture has the capability to support this level of development. Acision’s Multi-VAS provides us with a revolutionary, future-ready system enabling us to reduce TCO and drive significant OPEX savings in both the short and long-term, as well as enhance our network flexibility. On top of this, its consolidated nature provides our customers with more integrated and exciting services, further optimising and enhancing the end-user experience.”
Sherif Hamoudah, Managing Director Acision Middle East, Africa & Pakistan added: “Acision’s new Multi-VAS solution provides Orange Botswana with a simplified, cost effective platform which will support the operator’s existing and future services portfolio. The scalable nature of the architecture enables Orange Botswana to drive and develop much more innovative services in a cost-effective manner. The delivery of Acision Multi-VAS is a further example of our rapidly-expanding presence and commitment to the African market.”
