Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc., a national staffing organization specialized in recruiting skilled personnel for clients in the Professional Services, Life Sciences, Healthcare and Information Technology industries, hosted its annual National Sales Conference last month in Lombard, Ill. The goal of the conference was to unite Medix’s sales force from the company’s 11 offices across the country to learn invaluable lessons on teamwork, sales strategies and methodologies.
Sixty one Medix employees gathered at the company’s corporate headquarters for a three-day summit that not only focused on specific strategies for Medix to employ in its sales processes, but also included teambuilding activities and keynote speakers to impart knowledge on both general and tactical levels of the sales process.
“The sales conference is really our once-a-year opportunity to gather all our sales people together, streamline our processes and communicate valuable knowledge to the entire group,” said Scott Diamond, Medix’s Director of Corporate Development. “Also, this is a chance for our team to get together and foster meaningful relationships with one another. We communicate so frequently with teammates thousands of miles away without ever meeting them in person, and this is an invaluable opportunity to truly bond and get to know each other, making our team that much stronger.”
The conference also hosted two keynote speakers. The first speaker to kick off the event was the head coach of the men’s Marquette University basketball team, Buzz Williams. Williams has plenty of experience on “developing a winning attitude” to draw from, having led his team to the Sweet 16 in this year’s NCAA basketball tournament. His speech focused on always putting forth one’s best effort and taking pride in the results and satisfaction of maximizing one’s potential. The second speaker was Jill Konrath, sales strategist, public speaker and author of two best-selling books. She spoke with the sales people on the concept of “snap selling” and the most effective means of capturing the attention and business of key companies. Konrath even spent time working on role plays with Medix’s salespeople to help them fine-tune their skills.

In addition to listening to knowledgeable speakers, the sales conference attendees were also able to collaborate in breakout groups and unite with peers in similar divisions to broaden their knowledge on their specific fields.
