On May 16th, enlighten technologies, inc.™ released LegalConference, the first web-based service to connect a judge directly with a prisoner or a lawyer and his client with an expert witness and a court reporter, all face-to-face in an interactive, document sharing, text editing environment with stricter security, sharper tools, smarter applications, and at a cheaper price than the average competitor.
LegalConference.com is a web-based videoconferencing center that will allow legal professionals and others in the legal community to use their current PC or MAC and the simple addition of a USB web camera to host a Push-to-Talk video discussion for groups of up to 10 individuals at the low cost of $10.00 per hour. This is the most cost effective video communication product that accommodates large groups such as inter office meetings, Continued Legal Education (CLE) classes, and training seminars, and yet still caters to one-on-one client interviews, expert witness depositions, etc.
This service is offered on a ‘no conditions’ basis - no paying per individual user, no software download, and no expensive phone charges. One party hosts the videoconference and is able to upload images and PDF documents for all participants to discuss, review, and edit. This product is currently one of the only video services to offer live document review in a secure environment. Text communication, such as live chat, is provided with every videoconference for those who do not have a web camera on their computer. It’s free for all members of the legal community to register for this service. Once registered, you can book a virtual conference room and host a videoconference at any time of day or night, whenever it’s convenient for you. It’s easy to set up the hosting of a videoconference, and the charge for the service is handled as a ‘per use’ service, which allows for the ability to cover meetings that are spread across different time zones and to accommodate different work schedules.
