The International Butterfly Breeders Association (IBBA) annual convention will be held at the Clarion Lauderdale Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from November 3rd through the 5th, 2006.
Commercial butterfly breeders, farmers, and exhibitors from across the US and other parts of the world will gather to hear industry experts speak on breeding quality butterflies, disease prevention, marketing, public relations, advertising, business development; and other educational topics of interest to the butterfly breeding business community. There will be opportunities for networking and viewing butterfly merchandise and related business equipment.
Both amateur and professional butterfly breeders and exhibitors are welcome to attend as well as anyone interested in the possibilities the butterfly and moth breeding industry offers.
The keynote speaker at the Friday evening opening event will be Dr. Wayne Wehling, Senior Entomologist for USDA APHIS. Noted author, educator, and butterfly expert Rick Mikula will serve as the convention master of ceremonies.
In addition to the workshops, panel discussions, presentations planned for the formal convention, non-professionals will have an opportunity to attend a special pre-convention IBBA seminar designed for beginning butterfly breeders. The seminar is scheduled for 1-5 PM on Thursday, November 2, the day before the formal convention opening.
