Mellon Serbia, a key provider of technologically advanced transaction solutions and services, has showcased the latest novelties in secure entrance booths during this year’s Technobank exhibition. The continuous increase of robbery incidents primarily at bank branches and post office outlets is becoming a major concern for organizations who want to protect their assets and provide customers and employees alike, with a safe environment with no compromise to convenience.
Mellon’s proposition for secure entrance booths helps prevent criminal activity where it matters the most: at the doorway. Fully featured with advanced detection systems, the booths can be equipped with a range of sensors and detectors, including facial search and recognition, biometric scanners, metal detectors, and motion sensors, based on the level of security the organization wants to achieve. Moreover, the materials of the booths are certified for their resilience and endurance, whereas their ergonomic design incorporates provisions for people with disabilities, facilitating the flow of visitors in and out of the branch.
“Branches are increasingly becoming the target of criminals and robbers, an issue that governments and regulatory bodies have been addressing more and more in the past few years. In 2010 bank robbery incidents showed an increase of 10% across Europe, whereas in Serbia the average number of armed robberies of banks and Serbian post offices was two per day, with lack of video surveillance and physical security adding to the ease of committing these crimes successfully,” noted Stefanos Karapetsis, General Manager, Mellon Serbia. “Since 2009 demand for physical security solutions, related primarily to branch security but also to ATM security, has increased notably and we have already many successful installations across the Balkans. In Serbia we are currently in talks with many institutions in order to plan and roll out such projects across their branch-network.”
Mellon has extensive experience in physical security systems for bank branches, representing leading manufacturers and cooperating with reliable professionals to provide its customers with an end-to-end service, from custom design and system configuration to nation-wide installation and maintenance services.
