Shermco Industries, a leading provider of rotating apparatus and electrical power system testing, commissioning, repair, maintenance and training, has opened registration for the Shermco Industries Motors and Switchgear (SIMS) Conference on October 30-31, 2006, at the D/FW Hilton on the Lakes in Dallas. The conference offers three educational seminar tracks, a golf tournament and a private performance by Texas Hill Country music legend Gary P. Nunn.
“With so many resources out there, it’s a challenge for most companies to put it all together and determine how they can maximize their electrical power systems to run as efficiently as possible,” said Ron Widup, executive vice president of Shermco. “The SIMS Conference is designed to bring these resources and information into a single venue.”
Widup says he wants participants to walk away with new and creative ideas that will help businesses run their power systems more efficiently, cost-effectively and safely. SIMS presentations are designed to educate participants ranging from front-line production operators to upper management. Conference presenters, including Shermco representatives, are recognized experts who set the industry standard by participating in various trade organizations and national standards committees.
Conference participants may choose one of three seminar tracks:
Dealing With Arc Flash Hazards at Work – This track offers a series of presentations and a one-day workshop to help participants understand the arc flash hazard, the national consensus safety standard, OSHA requirements and NFPA 70E.
Predictive Maintenance Strategy – This two-day track focuses time-tested methods as well as the latest innovative methodologies to keep businesses running online and efficiently. This track also features discussions on predictive, preventive and reactive maintenance topics that can ultimately lead to lower production costs and increased production capabilities.
Power Systems Payback – This two-day track will help participants determine how to get the biggest bang for their kilowatt-hour buck. Presenters will discuss new and innovative ways that companies can save money and improve the bottom line while adding stability and reliability to their electrical power system.
Participants may register for the SIMS Conference or get more information on the Shermco Website. Conference fee is $199 with an additional $99 fee to play in the golf tournament.
