This may mean a better job outlook in an industry that has suffered since the financial crisis began.
Help wanted ads have gone up at many brokers across the nation, according to Broker Hunter and to FINS, both online career boards specializing in financial services. Recruiting interest is growing in many sectors, including capital markets, reported FINS in a recent newsletter. This interest is showing up in new job offerings placed into the online job boards.
Financial Firms are expanding their service offerings, too. And this is occurring despite the increased regulation which has come into effect since the crisis. A tougher regulatory environment often serves to discourage pursuit of new business, since any expansion creates expensive regulatory hurdles. Yet some securities firms are bolstering their lines of business to support anticipated growth.
TradeWallStreet International is one of those firms. The company has recently added several new business units to it's complement of services. “Capital Formation is showing signs of life again,” says Robert Shapiro, TradeWallStreet's Chief Operating Officer. “It's no exaggeration to say that getting investments backing innovation going again is a national imperative. We intend to do our best to see that it does.”
But Shapiro adds that TradeWallStreet is also recruiting, and plans on opening up to twenty-six new offices in the near future. The offices will be focused on traditional financial services, and not only the newly opened lines of business. “There is enough growth due to the nascent recovery to justify the expansion - which we view as a multi-year effort, with the new offices the very beginning.
TradeWallStreet International offers services in some fifty countries currently, and the choice to focus on the North American market at this time is telling.
The biggest of the fortune 500 companies today were founded during the Great Depression, adds Shapiro. “Opportunity is there for those who seek it.”
