Sacramento, CA, United States, 2011/04/17 - The Knocking Out Obesity tour will "Hit" 10 of the fattest cities in the nation to work with middle school students in their PE classes. They will conduct a non-contact boxing workout with the students and discuss nutrition - KO-Obesity.org.
The Knocking Out Obesity Tour has been in the works for the past few years and we are now ready to hit the road.
We have selected 10 of the "fattest" cities according the the annual Men's Fitness list/study and will be hitting them as we make our way across the country and back late April to late May 2011.
Because of the childhood obesity epidemic we are choosing one middle school in each city which is in need of more physical fitness and a healthier diet. As well, we have found middle school students to be at a cross roads and making the right choices are important at their age.
The tour follows the guidelines from Michelle Obama's Let's Move Initiative.

The response we have received from each school has been more than positive! Most of them asked if it cost them anything. We were surprised and told them it is all FREE!
We are working with some local eateries including Subway in each city to provide a healthy lunch for the day and we will be going over healthy menu options when kids eat out.
We will use whatever equipment is currently at each school to show that this non-contact boxing workout can be done with very little equipment.
We will be traveling in a large wrapped vehicle so that people across the nation can watch us as we travel through the country and will post photos daily on our facebook page.
We will be taking video footage of the event so that it can be produced into a short series reality show or docudrama. The idea is to continue this tour bringing it to high schools and colleges.
We are excited to hit the road and start making changes in how our kids(and parents) are looking at physical fitness and nutrition.
