Radiqx Press announces the release of InDesign On-Demand: Low Budget Publishing Digitally to enable non-profits, pastors, and new authors to publish books and booklets quickly and economically. On-demand digital publishing uses the many suppliers available to publish books at no cost (other than a proof). Distribution to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kindle, iBookstore and many more outlets can be accomplished for less than $50.
The focus of this book is very sharp, designed for people who are writing books and booklets with very limited capital and few personnel resources. It is a sharing of techniques for the new wave of author/pastor/teacher/designers who need to get their work published in print & online. It is designed to help those without the resources or connections to intrigue the large publishing houses.
This book enables people to produce the books and teaching materials required by their mission. A huge budget or years of production time is no longer needed to produce professional books distributed worldwide. This book teaches how to publish a printed book, convert it to ePUB, a downloadable PDF, a Kindle book, and more.
The author and publisher has forty years of publishing experience. He has been using and teaching InDesign from before the first release in 1999. Very early in world, he began publishing in the new on-demand publishing paradigm as soon as Lulu and CreateSpace became available. This new concept allows an author to publish a work for free.
The brand-new world of ebooks has greatly increased the options for the small, low budget writer. Ebooks, including ePUBs, can be released for free through Amazon‘s Kindle, iPad’s iBookstore, Barnes & Noble’s NookBooks, Sony and Kobo ereaders, and more. The author has been writing and releasing nearly a book a month through these venues for the past several years.

On-Demand Publishing With InDesign 7.5 & not much money
How much money? Nothing! You can publish a book in print, a downloadable PDF, an ePUB with ISBN, and a Kindle book for no money at all (as long as you have a decent computer and the Adobe™ Creative Suite Design Edition). You can get it into Amazon with all of its marketing helps for the cost of a proof (which is usually less than $10.00). You can get it distributed (or at least available) to any bookstore, library, school, and the like for less than $40. This is rapidly becoming the way to publish in the 21st century. I’ve been doing it since early in the millennium. I’ve found books I published on-demand back to 2003. I think I started in early spring of 2003. Lulu was founded in 2002 and that’s where we all started this new path to independent digital publishing from our desks.
On-demand printing gives authors the ability to publish books, booklets, brochures, and so on with little or no money up front.
It’s basically a very simple process. The complexity is added by the fact that the individual on-demand publishers and distributors all have different requirements for artwork. The differing formats have unique limitations. The result is that you usually have to layout your book at least four times to get it in the different formats and quite possibly 6–8 times.
All books from Radiqx are now released in print, a downloadable PDF of the printed book, a downloadable PDF for reading online, ePUB for the iBookstore and B&N, a Kindle book, and several miscellaneous ebook formats—all built off the printed version.
The new on-demand paradigm is publishing with very few upfront costs. You may choose to pay for marketing and distribution—but they are not required services. Most of you already have good, functional mailing lists—a built-in market for your work. I will talk about some of those options with the services I recommend.
The benefits of the new paradigm
It is very fast!
One of the real changes in the new paradigm is the speed with which you can release books, booklets, posters, and so on. If you have proofed copy that is ready to format, you can get it published and released in a day or so. The limitation is only your formatting speed.
With the techniques and workflow explained in this book, you will be able to write, formatting as you go, ending up with finished formatted documents that are ready to publish and distribute to your readers and supporters in a wide variety of formats: printed and digital.
