Kapil Nanda, CEO Infogain Corporation attended a panel discussion presented by the Haas Alumni Network, South Bay Chapter on September 22, 2006 at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Nanda’s discussion revolved around three key questions: What benefits are realistic and to what extent are they being improved or diminished? What are the cost and challenges? And how can geographic and cultural distances be overcome?
Mr. Nanda spoke about the benefits and importance of communication amidst clients and offshore teams; and explored the concept of cutting across cultural and language barriers to achieve greater benefits from outsourcing.
He addressed issues involved in coping with challenges such as the time difference and highlighted the advantages of being sensitive to ‘the human element’. The discussion among other things explored the reasons as to why India ranks over China when it comes to outsourcing.
