Thanks to the new chipset, Realtek 1183DD C+, the Eminent HD media player EM7180 provides increased processor power and an improved user interface. The HD media player supports many different file formats, including MKV and H.264, and shows movies in full HD quality on TV. Clear digital sound, via AC3 and DTS stereo downmix, contributes to the movie theatre experience. Eminent has maintained the solid and elegant design of its predecessor, EM7080. There is room for a hard disk – Eminent offers versions with 1TB and 2TB hard disks, or the user can connect a hard disk himself.
The Eminent EM7180 hdMEDIA RT2 is de second out of three new HD media players that will be on the market in spring 2011.
