In Dec 2005, CBRC (China Banking Regulatory Commission) announced that it would increase the number of cities in the country where foreign banks would be allowed to do business denominated in Yuan. CBRC has also announced easing of fund requirements for overseas investors.

Cities of Ningbo and Shantou shall soon open their doors for foreign banks that offer Yuan business to both Chinese as well as foreign companies and individuals. With these two and several other prominent cities opening up their doors for overseas banks, there’ll be enough space and scope for foreign investors to grow and flourish in China Banking Sector.
