London based British firm Mineral Mining PLC (Frankfurt: M8M, mineral-mining.co.uk) reported today that Mineral Mining PLC has commenced drilling at the Potash project in Tajikistan, located 90 kilometers southeast of Uzbekistan border. The current program follows geophysical work and an earlier one-hole (1065 meter) drill program and will test an up-thrown block of prospective stratigraphic located approximately 400 meters to the southeast of the previous drill hole. Previous drilling on the property in 2010 returned a 402 meter interval averaging 60 per cent Potash salts and included several three-to-six-meter intervals averaging from 40-60 per cent potash salts. Engineers believe that these results, together with other historical data, suggest the presence of a large, deep-seated potash salts system disrupted by post-mineral faulting.

About Potash - Mineral Mining PLC
The term potash refers to a group of potassium bearing salts, especially potassium chloride. Potassium, which is the seventh most abundant element on earth but one which is too reactive to be found on its own, is needed as one of the three critical nutrients besides nitrogen and phosphorous in fertilizer. Potassium helps plants to retain water, to produce and transport sugar and to fight disease, stress, weeds and insects. It stops wilting, strengthens roots and stems, and protects plants from extreme temperatures. There is no substitute for potassium in fertilizer which accounts for 95% of potash demand. The remainder is used in a myriad of minor uses including livestock feed supplements, computer screens, water softeners and soap.

There are compelling reasons for believing that potash demand will continue to rise, given the requirement to feed a rising population from a declining bank of arable land. All the factors which have been driving demand – the rising population, rising incomes, changing diets and decreasing availability of arable land - seem likely to continue into the future.

Favorable economic variables include:

• Growing world population;
• Rising incomes in the developing world, consequently increasing demand for protein rich diets;
• Decreasing availability of arable lands;
• Lack of commercial substitutes -- Potash is irreplaceable.

Technical specifications of Mineral Mining's Potash are as follows –

1 Appearance Light pinkish
2 Mass fraction of potassium in terms of K2O, % Not less than 60%
3 Mass concentration of water, % Not more than 1%
4 Particle Size About 0.25mm to 1.7mm
5 Dynamic durability (mass fraction of not approved granules), % None
6 Friability % 100.
