The WSOP 2006 took place in Harrah´s Rio hotel in Las Vegas between June 26th and August 10th. The WSOP is unequalled in the poker world today, and it is considered by all to be the ultimate achievement of a poker player’s career.
This year it was Jaime Gold, a 36-year-old television producer from Los Angeles who won the big $12 million prize. At the final table he played Texas Holdem head to head with 888.com sponsored 2nd place winner, Paul Wasicka. Wasicka, a 25-year-old from Colorado, won a hefty $6 million prize!
