The VPort 16-M12, scheduled for release early next year, successfully distinguished itself in a highly competitive, international field to win this award.
Designed for rolling stock surveillance, the VPort 16-M12 is an extraordinarily compact, lightweight, and sleek IP camera which discreetly adds video surveillance without disturbing passengers. Equipped with a rugged and lightweight alloy housing and a tempered glass lens cover for vandal and vibration protection, the low-smoke halogen-free IP camera provides an eco-friendly security solution. Its simplified, integrated form factor allows for easy installation without any accessories required and a patented defrosting vent eliminates lens fogging.
"The iF award recognizes Moxa’s achievement in designing and delivering an innovative product that puts user needs and requirements first. With the VPort, we didn’t want to only deliver on functionality and performance; we also placed a high value on friendliness to both users and the environment," explained Harry Hsiao, Moxa industrial video networking division product manager.
The iF communication design award honors innovative design concepts and exceptional product usability. It serves as a platform for design-relevant innovations, thus recognizing today's globally networked world and its related dynamics. Assessments are based on design quality, degree of innovativeness, environmental compatibility, and functionality. This year, 993 products received iF awards out of 2,756 submitted. The VPort 16-M12 IP camera was awarded in the iF "building" category.
