Walla Walla, WA, United States, 2010/12/07 - Patients now have immediate, on-the-go access to symptom, disease, medical procedures and providers with the iTriage healthcare decision tool.
Walla Walla General Hospital is launching iTriage this week, a smartphone application that allows consumers to locate vital medical information and local medical services on their smartphone. The free application, which is a result of a partnership with Healthagen®, can be downloaded for the iPhone®, iPod touch®, or Android™ smartphones through app stores, or by logging onto iTriageHealth.com from any other Internet-enabled device.
The iTriage app enables consumers to search medical symptoms, learn about the possible causes and find appropriate locations for treatment, as well as physicians specializing in those areas. WWGH is the first hospital in Eastern Washington to utilize the interactive application on mobile devices and their website.
“At Walla Walla General Hospital we understand how important it is for our patients to access medical care and information as quickly as possible,” says Monty Knittel, President & CEO of Walla Walla General Hospital. “Our partnership with iTriage allows us to give the residents of our community greater control over their healthcare by providing them with a technology that makes access to medical information more convenient.”
iTriage harnesses the power of mobility and the Internet to improve access to healthcare information and assist patients in becoming active participants in their care. By bringing the tool to the Walla Walla Valley, WWGH is offering members of the community immediate access to details about the hospital and clinic, contact information, hours of operation, facility capabilities and more.
“Competition for the U.S. mobile smartphone user is heating up fast in Washington and Walla Walla General Hospital’s decision to partner with iTriage makes sense for this level of care,” said Peter Hudson, M.D., CEO of Healthagen and the developer of iTriage. “We look forward to helping mobile patients access medical care across the country with iTriage and help empower patients with better access to healthcare information.”
iTriage (iTriageHealth.com) is a health application intended to assist consumers in diagnosing symptoms and locating appropriate medical care. Adventist Health encourages anyone in need of immediate medical attention to dial 9-1-1.
