Wellington City Libraries Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui, which had utilized TLC’s CARL•Solution® ILS since 2001, unveiled its new automation system on Oct. 26.

“This smooth migration was a success due to the professionalism and hard work of TLC and the library’s project team working closely together over the past six months,” said Jane Hill, director of Wellington City Libraries Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui. “The combined preparation and commitment of both organizations within a problem-solving environment, frequent discussions, and with a goal of solution-focused outcomes have resulted in us providing an enhanced service level for our customers. I am very pleased.”

As part of the software migration, TLC also added features to the Outreach component that can be utilized by all CARL•X libraries. “With these new Outreach features, homebound customers and other library community members will enjoy using the library’s Web site remotely to keep a wish list of titles that they would like to borrow from the library’s collection in the future,” said Lorrie Ann Butler, director of product strategy in TLC’s Denver office.

Paul Leppert, managing director of TLC Denver, added: "We are excited that our long-time customers are continuing to put their trust in us and look forward to continuing our close working relationship with Wellington City Libraries to support their needs now and in the future.”

Wellington City Libraries (wcl.govt.nz) serves its community with a network of 12 sites – one central library and 11 branch facilities – and more than 160,000 titles. Of the 195,000 people who live in Wellington and the additional 200,000 who work in the city, 77 percent are active members of the vibrant library system, contributing to its annual circulation of nearly 3.3 million items.
