SumTotal® Systems, its partners and a line-up of experts and visionaries will bring the future of learning and performance to HR and training professionals at TotalConnection 2006. TotalConnection 2006 lands at the Fairmont San Jose hotel in San Jose, Calif., from September 25-27, 2006.
“This event offers our 1,500 customers from around the globe an unparalleled chance to network, comment on the direction of our product,“ said Don Fowler, chief executive of SumTotal, “and see the future of what learning can be.”
Headlining the user conference is renowned global futurist, social scientist, author, and sought-after business advisor Dr. James Canton. Canton’s keynote address, “The Extreme Future: Top Trends that will Re-shape Business and Society,” will provide a look at the top trends that will shape the future, including the future of climate, energy, technology, the workforce, security, the economy, life sciences, demographics, entertainment and lifestyles.
In addition to Dr. Canton’s keynote, TotalConnection 2006 features e-learning, workplace performance and training experts from BMW, British Telecom (BT), Defense Acquisition University, Holland America Line, NEC, Southwest Airlines and St. Luke's Medical Center. Along with these experts, there will be hundreds of ways for attendees to network with their peers from within and across industries such as banking, health care and government.
“A good conference is one where you can assess the state of the industry, meet your peers and see where technology is going. I’m going to TotalConnection because I want to know where SumTotal’s product is headed during the next year and how other customers are using SumTotal’s software,” said Glenn Greenberg, e-learning technologist/SumTotal administrator for Southern Company. “I’m also presenting a session on how we’re using SumTotal’s platform to deliver and track video and put more power into the hands of users.”
Influential analysts, thought-leaders, and industry experts will also share insights and strategies for managing learning, performance and talent, including:
* Cushing Anderson, program director of IDC's Corporate Learning and Performance Research, will present on the relationship between performance and talent management. Anderson will explain how organizations can use tools to build high-performing organizations. He will also discuss the future of learning, including the concept of "hyper-relevance” and “reference-based education systems.”
* Kevin Smith, worldwide partner manager for Google’s Enterprise Division, will discuss the recent partnership forged by SumTotal Systems and Google. Smith will demonstrate the new Google search capabilities within SumTotal’s learning management system (LMS).
