DINE ON THE GREEN
Another recent innovation at Banyan Tree Bintan (banyantree.com) is a tasty treat for all gourmets. At the Greg Norman-designed Laguna Bintan Golf Club, the private Dinner at 8 is set at the club’s signature eighth hole overlooking the majestic South China Sea. A personal waiter and chef are at hand to serve guests with a five-course gourmet degustation, priced at US$130++ per person.
The menu is meant to evoke the formal fine dining expectations of a “dinner at eight” yet providing the natural pleasures of an outdoor landscape. The 5-course meal comprises favourites from land and sea, as epitomised in the succulent surf-and-turf combination of BBQ grilled beef tenderloin and Sulawesi lobster tails, with a selection of sauces and ginger-steamed rice. Only one table is prepared per night, adding to the venue’s exclusivity.
