ATEN International, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, today introduced its latest 2 and 4-port PS/2-USB KVM switches. The CS82U and CS84U allow users to manage two or four multiplatform computers from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse console. These new KVM solutions provide dual interface functionality for both PS/2 and USB environments; and support gaming keyboards.
The CS82U and CS84U are part of ATEN's CubiQ series of advanced desktop KVM switches. Thanks to their dual interface, the CS82U and CS84U support computers with PS/2 or USB keyboards and mice. Both models offer the latest console mouse port emulation/bypass technology to ensure compatibility with all multi-function mouse drivers. Complete keyboard emulation means error-free booting and support for most gaming keyboards.
These new PS/2-USB KVM switches are designed with ATEN's exclusive Video DynaSync™ technology, which eliminates problems that can occur during computer boot-up. Video DynaSync™ also helps maintain monitor settings to optimize resolution and ensure the best image quality when switching between ports. The CS82U and CS84U support DDC2B and superior video resolutions of up to 2048x1536. Users can easily switch computers via hotkeys, pushbuttons as well as with the mouse.
"With the Dual Interface functionality, our new PS/2-USB KVM Switches can address the requirements of old and new generation computers at the same time. In addition, the CS82U/84U can fully meet power users' professional application demands with support for gaming keyboards and multifunction mice." said Kevin Chen, president of ATEN International.
Another user-friendly feature supported by the CS82U/CS84U is power on detection, which allows them to automatically switch to another powered-on computer when the computer it is focused on shuts down. Both models are compatible with all major operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, as well as Windows 7. Since there is no software to configure, the installation is hassle-free. Setting them up is as easy as plugging cables into their appropriate ports.
About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device
A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
