Green N Brown – an online retailer of eco friendly and organic products announced the results of its quarterly end user survey, 2010 American Green Behavior. The survey evaluates over 590 American consumers and measures their awareness of and preferences for green products and services, and their purchase decisions and processes. The survey also looks at which features related to environment are most important and evaluates current and future usage and implementations.

According to the survey, while overall awareness of green products is moderate but is steadily increasing over the past surveys.

“Americans are the largest consumers in the world and an increasing trend towards green products is brilliant news not only for the nation but also for the world,” says Green N Brown Evangelist & CEO Naina Vaish, “however, this trend needs to be amply supported with supply, and this is where retailers like ourselves have a larger role to play.”

Among the drivers propelling American consumers towards green products, peer pressure is gaining significance since with increasing awareness comes social dialogue that often induces people to act and align preferences.

592 Americans participated in the survey conducted in 2010. Respondents represented the four regions throughout the US in equal quotas: Midwest, Northeast, South, and West. All age groups and genders are near equally represented.
