Dr. Michael Rosenberg, CEO of full-service contract research organization Health Decisions, will present a featured session titled “Adaptive Site Monitoring” October 25 at MAGI’s Clinical Research Conference West in San Francisco, CA. Dr. Rosenberg will outline how advanced e-monitoring techniques facilitate a metrics-based approach that reduces field monitoring costs by as much as 50 percent without compromising quality.
According to Dr. Rosenberg, an adaptive monitoring system builds on the same basic principles as adaptive design. But instead of adapting study designs based on interim reviews of patient data, adaptive monitoring optimizes operations based on iterative, day-to-day reviews of operational metrics.
“With the ability to access constant flows of meaningful metrics remotely and in near-real time, monitors can respond more quickly to emerging problems while more efficiently scheduling expensive monitoring visits,” said Dr. Rosenberg. “As a result, drug and device developers experience drastically reduced field monitoring costs, better data quality, more efficient use of resources, and substantially shorter program cycles.”
Part of the conference’s Sponsor Operations track, “Adaptive Site Monitoring (D381)” takes place Monday, October 25 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. PDT at The Fairmont San Francisco.
