The IT provider is setting up in London as part of a strategy to recruit the UK’s most promising graduates. To support its consistent year-on-year growth, over the next three years it aims to recruit 100 new employees in sales, account management and support positions.
The office’s first new recruits will begin in London immediately, having completed three weeks of training at Softcat’s head office in Marlow. Further new starters will join them at regular intervals throughout 2011.
A number of existing employees are also moving to London from Marlow. A newly appointed London management team comprising regional sales manager Richard Wyn Griffith and team leader Danielle Binnee will take the lead in ensuring that the company’s positive – and unusual – culture spreads to its new workplace. Managing director Martin Hellawell believes that to have satisfied customers, first you must have satisfied employees, which is why Softcat offers its staff full professional training as well as outstanding salaries and opportunities to progress.
“Many people want the buzz of working in London, so this move has helped us to recruit some of the country’s brightest talent,” Mr Hellawell commented. “We are delighted with the new intake. I am confident that they will help us to build momentum in London, and then, over the next few months and years, will help many more talented new starters feel at home with our special way of doing things, so that our cycle of success continues.”
Softcat has a reputation as an award-winning top employer. As well as giving its staff opportunities to progress in their careers, it offers student loan contributions, healthcare and dental plans, a company contributory pension, half-day holidays on employees’ birthdays, lunch at exclusive restaurants, and team-building activities. The company rewards high-performing employees with trips to exotic locations.
The company is inviting customers to meet the London team at its new office on Friday 22 October. Customers interested in attending can email london[.]softcat.com to request an invitation.
