FatWire Software, the largest independent provider of Web Experience Management solutions, today announced that the National Statistics Institute of Spain (INE) has implemented FatWire Content Server to help the organization’s new public website to meet government regulatory requirements and to guarantee citizens around-the-clock access to information and services.
As the agency responsible for Spain’s statistical services, the INE carries out demographic, economic, and social studies, in addition to supervising and managing the related technical processes. To create a modern web presence while meeting the legal requirements for government agency websites, the INE conducted a thorough search for a solution that would allow all of its statistical information to be available to the country’s citizens. Among the requirements was the need to provide a vast array of information and to facilitate interactive electronic services online such as the Consumer Price Index (CPI), certifications, electoral registration, census consulting, electronic document registration, and more. Strong security, web content reliability and scalability were necessary to meet the requirements for e-administration services dictated by the most recent Spanish Law for Citizen´s Electronic Access to Public Services (LAECSP).
After researching potential solutions, the INE chose FatWire as the best platform on which to build its new public website. FatWire offers market-leading Web Experience Management solutions that enable organizations to easily manage and deploy a web presence that will help them meet their goals for customer experience and marketing success, as well as drive significant cost savings. FatWire solutions scale to meet the needs of the largest deployments, which was an important capability for the INE.
During the first phase of the site modernization project, which took two months, the INE’s information technology department worked with FatWire Software to develop and deploy the applications, transaction flows and content lifecycle needed to ensure the operation of a site that would meet the demands of 500,000 users per day.
“From our point of view, it is essential to have a tool that can guarantee the availability of statistical information and give citizens all of the protection of personal data that our laws require,” said Adolfo Gálvez Moraleda, INE general manager of statistics circulation. “It is critical to have a platform that allows the different units responsible for content publication to collaborate, making internal processes more efficient. FatWire Content Server was chosen as the solution that would best ensure our success in meeting all these objectives. In fact, we are already working to migrate the rest of the INE´s site’s institutional information and statistics to FatWire’s platform, to optimize the management of these resources.”
“The INE’s investment in their web presence shows that even in challenging economic times, it is important for organizations to invest in solutions that will enable them to improve the efficiency of the services they offer to enable real cost savings,” said Rocío Motilla, general director of FatWire Software for Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. “The INE site is a shining example of e-administration, and we are thrilled that FatWire has enabled the INE to be successful in making electronic information and procedures available to all citizens.”
