Oakland, CA, United States, 2010/10/13 - Meditab Software, an industry leader in healthcare technology, today announced that the company’s multi award winning Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, IMS v.14, has earned “Complete” 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB certification on September 30.
They are among the first to receive certification from the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), assuring eligible providers that the product has satisfied all 33 requirements in accordance with the certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and qualify eligible providers to receive Stage 1 (HITECH) incentive payments under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) as early as April 2011.
This comes as no surprise to Meditab’s clients as the company introduced their “Practice |ON” initiative six weeks earlier; which in brief, promised that Meditab will continue to always put their clients’ best interest first.
“Our primary focus has always been to provide quality software that is both practical and comprehensive. We believe that by acquiring this certification we have demonstrated, once again, that it is indeed possible to achieve federal compliance with a solution that is easy to use. As a leading healthcare information technology provider (HIT), our “Meditabians” count on us to provide them with the tools needed for better patient & practice health.” said Mike Patel, CEO-Meditab Software, Inc.
To receive the “Complete” ONC-ATCB certification, Meditab’s IMS v.14 underwent rigorous testing for functionality, interoperability, security, and technology in addition to achieving full compliance with all 33 key requirements tied to ARRA (HITECH) financial incentives for achieving Meaningful Use. “CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives,” said Karen M. Bell, M.D., M.S.S., Chair, CCHIT.
Meditab’s IMS v.14’s certification number is CC-1112-372910-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

About ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification
The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHR technology is capable of meeting the 2011/2012 criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The certifications include Complete EHRs, which meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology and EHR Modules, which meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria. ONC-ATCB certification aligns with Health Information Technology: Initial Set of Standards, Implementation Specifications, and Certification Criteria for Electronic Health Record Technology published in the Federal Register in July 2010 and strictly adheres to the test procedures published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the time of testing. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®) does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
