Shanghai, China, 2006/08/19 - The China Supply Chain Council continues to strengthen its position as a number one professional organization with this new workgroup and soon-to-be announced chapter in Guangzhou, China.
The China Supply Chain Council, China's leading professional organization, announces it held its inaugural workgroup event in Guangzhou, China on August 15.
The vision of the workgroup was to increase the international dialogue among companies, encourage active engagement with various supply chain partners, provide opportunities for networking among executive-level peers and promote cross-cultural learning. 30 people attended the event and provided the perfect platform and an opportunity for supply chain, procurement, sourcing and logistics professionals to get to know each other, network and share operational experiences in South China.
Some of the participants included senior level executives from companies like IKEA, Esquel, Huntsman Textile, Rainbow Logistics, West True Dragon Transportation, Prologis, Newell Rubbermaid, COSCO Logistics, Effem Foods and Inventis.

During this unique gathering, leaders heard from the China Supply Chain Council succesful business model and its plans for opening chapters in Guangdong, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Q&As expressed concerns such as the current lack of professionaly organized events and lack of netwkoring and information sharing in Guangzhou for supply chain professionals. The Council is eager to address these issues and has announced it will officialy launch its South China chapter in October.
