Customers achieve Performance Gains and Cost Savings in Virtual Environments

ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced that its 8Gb/s Celerity Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters have achieved VMware Ready™ status for VMware vSphere™ 4.1, the latest release of the companies virtualization platform. This status designates that the ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel host bus adapters have passed a detailed evaluation and testing process managed by VMware and are now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility List.

Passing the extensive VMware-specified testing helps ensure that ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel host bus adapters make best use of VMware technology and are ready for deployment in customer environments. Customers can now achieve the highest level of performance available for SAN environments while improving hardware utilization, operational efficiencies and reduced costs. The ATTO Celerity line of 8Gb/s Fibre Channel host bus adapters include single-, dual- and quad-channel configurations that leverage over a decade of leading-edge technologies, stable drivers and proven interoperability to provide customers with reliable Fibre Channel connectivity.

“We are pleased that ATTO’s Celerity HBAs qualify for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that they have passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria, and are ready to run their mission-critical business applications and operations,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware.

“ATTO is proud to announce that we are now delivering valuable connectivity solutions to customers looking to seamlessly integrate storage into VMware environments,” said Tim Klein, president and CEO, ATTO Technology. “By using Celerity Fibre Channel host bus adapters with VMware vSphere v4.1, enterprises can increase the benefits of server virtualization by providing greater I/O bandwidth and storage capacity for the deployment of multiple virtual machines running various applications.”
