Eynsham, Near Oxford, United Kingdom, 08/19/2010 - Hytec has today announced that it will host a complimentary webinar, dedicated to helping trusts understand the requirements of version 8 of the IG Toolkit (IGT).

IGT version 8 assessments must be submitted by all health and non-health organisations by 31 March 2011. In addition, trusts and SHAs must submit their Baseline and Performance Update submissions by 31 October 2010.
Robin Ingram, Hytec’s Information Assurance Officer, and presenter at the webinar said, “Version 8 is more rigorous than its predecessors and includes several material changes. It’s more challenging to complete and a lot more time-consuming than previous versions as organisations are required to go into greater depth about their policies, procedures and processes.”
Hytec’s webinar – “Understanding IGT V8” – will explain the changes in version 8, and allow participants to put their questions to industry experts. Participants will learn:
• what the changes are;
• what they mean;
• how the changes impact the requirement to complete the assessment;
• what needs to be done before 31 October 2010; and
• the consequences of failing to comply.
Mr Ingram concluded: “Everything in the IG Toolkit is there for a reason, either to protect the N3 network and all organisations connected to it, protect Spine applications, or protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of patient data. Therefore it’s crucial that we help trusts to understand the requirements and ensure they comply with the assessment process.”
Who should attend
Those responsible for, and tasked with, completing an IG Toolkit assessment; including:
• Chief Executives
• SIROs
• Information Asset Officers
• IG Leads
