DJ Qbert, leader of the Qbert Skratch University, will be featured in Activision Publishing Inc.'s (Nasdaq: ATVI) DJ Hero® 2 game to be released this fall.
Actual skratch DJs and game-players alike will now have the chance to learn the basics from the “Undisputed King of Turntablism” as Qbert ushers in players in the opening levels of DJ Hero® 2. "I'm excited about finally getting to bring the art of turntablism's defining skills, as well as two exclusive mixes, to DJ Hero 2," said DJ Qbert. "It's been a dream of mine as a gamer to battle myself on the turntables and now millions of fans around the world and their friends will get their chance to also."
As part of the announcement, Activision offered a one-year scholarship to the Qbert Skratch University on their DJ Hero Facebook page by asking their Facebook and Twitter followers to upload a photo with their DJ gear. Three QSU lessons were also featured on the Facebook page as part of the “DJH2” launch effort.
Players who want to test their skills on an actual DJ setup of two turntables and a mixer can do so in the Qbert Skratch University, where DJ Qbert provides and online learning experience for turntablists around the world to study using the groundbreaking online video lessons-exchange platform and active online classroom created by ArtistWorks.
