Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., has announced that it has expanded its publishing partnership with the British Psychological Society (BPS) to include the Society’s journals in addition to their partnership on the BPS’ prestigious book publishing programme. Wiley-Blackwell will publish the eleven BPS journals from 2011.

The BPS is the second largest psychological society in the world. The partnership aims to increase the global impact of the BPS’ journals and develop each journal to become a leader in its field through tailored development. Together Wiley-Blackwell and the BPS will enhance its joint publishing programme across journals, books and online services to benefit psychologists in all aspects of their work and careers – in their learning, teaching, research and professional practice.

“We are delighted to be extending our already successful publishing collaboration with the British Psychological Society”, said Philip Carpenter, VP at Wiley-Blackwell. “At a time when the BPS is developing new ways to support the psychology community both in Britain and elsewhere, Wiley has a great many resources to make available to the society to help it fulfil its ambitions.”

"This new partnership with Wiley-Blackwell is an exciting development which will further enhance the global standing of our excellent journals portfolio. Wiley-Blackwell is a world class publisher at the front edge of innovation in journals publishing. This joint venture will provide substantial added value for our members and for our readership worldwide," said Dr Gerry Mulhern, President of the British Psychological Society.

The partnership reinforces Wiley-Blackwell’s already prominent position as publisher for more than 750 society partners which includes many psychology and mental health associations. Wiley-Blackwell continues to provide the scholarly community with access to the highest-quality content.
