Frost & Sullivan, the world leader in helping companies achieve growth, today announced the appointment of J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D. as VP & Chief Analyst, Mobile & Wireless.
For more than 16 years, Dr. Purdy has been consulting, speaking, researching, networking, writing and developing state-of-the-art concepts that challenge people's mind-sets and developing new ways of thinking and forecasting in the mobile computing and wireless communications industry. Often quoted, his ideas and opinions are followed closely by industry watchers who read his insightful column, “Inside Mobile & Wireless.”
In his new position, Dr. Purdy will be responsible for generating and conducting custom consulting, conducting growth workshops for clients to assist them in their market and product strategy and producing high quality deliverables to clients. In addition to having continuous, high level contacts with potential and current clients, Dr. Purdy will be speaking at trade shows and Frost & Sullivan Executive Summits, participating in webinars and eBroadcasts, and writing analytical articles for trade journals and frost.com to ensure that Frost & Sullivan is continually thought of as an industry thought leader in the mobile and wireless sector.

From 2002 to 2006, Dr. Purdy was Principal Analyst at MobileTrax. He also spent five years as a Venture Advisor for Diamondhead Ventures in Menlo Park where he identified, attracted and recommended investments in emerging companies in the mobile and wireless space.
Dr. Purdy holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Tennessee, an M.S. in Computer Science from UCLA and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Exercise Physiology from Stanford University. Dr. Purdy is also a member of The World Futurist Society.
