Taipei, Taiwan, 2010/06/18 - Korenix releases new 2-channel fiber media converter, JetCon 2302 – Perfect device for high-performance, extended network construction in severe conditions of intelligent traffic control systems.
Korenix extends it series of Industrial Media Converters by launching the brand new JetCon 2302 Fast Ethernet to Fiber Media Converter with 2 Fast Ethernet copper and 2 fiber ports allowing the device to act as 4 port Fast Ethernet Fiber switch or 2-channel Converter for flexible industrial applications. The converter supports Link Loss Forwarding technology to provide users with easy and cost-effective maintenance. The NEMA TS2 compliant JetCon 2302, designed with IP31 grade enclosure, is equipped with dual redundant DC10~60V power inputs and provides 1.5 K Hi-Pot isolation protection and wide operating temperature, therefore ensuring highly reliable network performance under harsh industrial environments with vibration and shock.
- Dual Operation Modes for Flexible Implementation
The interface design of JetCon2302 allows it to be configured in two different operation modes by a simple DIP switch:
- 4-port Fast Ethernet Fiber Switch
In switch operation mode the device acts as an Industrial 4-port 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch with 2 fiber ports for long distance connectivity applications. The fiber ports provide multi-mode 2KM or single-mode 30KM transceivers to avoid interferences and achieve stable data transmission in extended field site installations. It also incorporates 3.2Gbps switching fabric with non-blocking store and forward technology, to provide outstanding data exchange performance.
- 2-channel Fiber Converter
Configured in converter mode, the device outstands from traditional media converters by using 2 channels 10/100 TX to 100 FX, as a result saving the cost and power use.
- Active Warning through Link Loss Forwarding Technology
When working as a converter, the device provides remote Link Loss Forwarding technology to forward link status changes for alerting remote or central management systems. Moreover, the device provides an alarm relay aiming to inform users whenever a port or power event occurs. All these allow users to fast react to the situation and reduce loss caused by link failure, as a result saving time and helping administrators easily maintain the network.
- Robust Design for Harsh Environment
JetCon 2302 has a wide range redundant power input 10~60VDC that meets the NEMA-TS2 requirements for power variation and allows the devices to provide a higher reliability. It is also designed with IP31 grade enclosure, 1.5 K Hi-Pot Isolation protection and -25~75℃ operating temperature range to resist severities in industrial applications and provide outstanding performance under harsh environments. For applications with extremely wide temperature range, Korenix (korenix.com) provides JetCon 2302-w with -40~75℃ wide operating temperature range.
