Hytec Microsystems was first established in June 1980, delivering mainframe protocols and communications solutions to local government, the NHS and some commercial organisations. Over the years, the company evolved its focus towards information security and secure connectivity to networks such as the Government's secure intranet, GCSx and the NHS’s N3.
In 2008, Hytec became part of OLM Group, the UK's largest independent supplier of information solutions for children's and adult care services. The merger has allowed Hytec to grow its solutions portfolio by adding complimentary technology centres in systems integration, mobile applications development and infrastructure management.
Today’s Hytec is very different. Major health and local authority accounts are now supported through a portfolio of professional services, custom integrated solutions and managed services embracing all the technology areas, whilst Hytec’s Remote Management Centre (RMC) is equipped with advanced systems for secure hosting and infrastructure management. The company has also developed a nationwide presence, with technology specialists located at its head office in Eynsham, just outside Oxford, and at offices in Glasgow, Teddington and Cwmbran.
To celebrate its 30 year anniversary, Hytec will invest in a 12-month information sharing programme with customers and prospects in the local government and healthcare sectors. The programme will focus on sharing expertise and best-practice models through a variety of media, including a blog, e-bulletins, workshops, technical webinars, executive briefings, case studies and white papers.
