NAA and BARD Holding will be co-hosting a workshop at BARD’s facilities in Fairless Hills, PA on June 17, 2010. William Walsh, Jr., of VGA Systems and one of the researchers whose results are published in the Carnegie-Mellon study and Dr. Matt Prufert of DRS Mobile Environmental Systems will be joining Bucks County Commissioner Jim Cawley and Managing Director, Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority Vijay Rajput, in addition to Harvel Plastics, NovakDruce patent attorney William Ramey, Bob Vitale of Waterwheel Factory and Will Thurmond of Emerging Markets Online in what will certainly be a day of collaborative efforts to fast-track commercialization of algae.

Algae oil is renewable, does not affect the food channel and consumes CO2. Come learn about algae oil as a potential feedstock to help biodiesel producers become self-sustainable. It's one solution to help the US reduce its dependence on foreign oil and create new green jobs.

The National Algae Association (nationalalgaeassociation.com), a 501(c)6, is the first algae trade association in the US with chapters throughout the country to assist algaepreneurs create algae production plants to provide biodiesel producers with a renewable feedstock. Algae oil can be made into biodiesel, ethanol, biogasoline, jet fuel and bioplastics. Algae biomass can be made into many different co-products such as nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and organic fertilizer.

Algae production plants are scaling-up to produce both algae oil and biomass for co-products. Algae research will continue but proven technologies are being implemented today in the scale-up of the new algae industry. Enhancements will surely continue as algaepreneurs move into commercial-scale algae production.
