Designed for abrading materials such as Neoprene or Hypalon fabrics with an evenness and consistency that ensures faultless bonding, this new toolhead means neoprene panel preparation can be automated with an accuracy previously unattainable. This ensures high quality of bonding for seams when reliability is critical, such as the manufacture of RIB boats, wet suits and waders.
The new sanding head fits on the toolhead gantry beside the cutting head. Suitable for flatbed or conveyor systems, incorporating the new sanding head means panels can now be automatically cut and abraded in a single process. It reduces production times dramatically, reduces labour costs, increases throughput, whilst ensuring the highest quality of the prepared panels.
Alex White, managing director of BW Cutters commented, “We’re continually looking at ways we can develop our machines so our customers get even more value from their automated cutters. This new sanding head is ideal to prepare synthetic rubber panels for bonding floatation collars for RNLI RIBs, but there are many other applications where accurate abrasion will prove a real benefit by speeding up production and increasing quality in manufacturing.”
