The world leading manufacturer and provider of food cutting equipment, Urschel Laboratories Incorporated, offers an extensive line of milling machinery. The Comitrol Processor is designed and manufactured for maximum productivity and energy efficiency, as an effective solution for a multitude of size reduction applications. Its success has enabled Urschel to expand and develop a dozen different Comitrol models, including the widely used Comitrol Processor Models 1700, 1500, and 9300, each suited to a variety of size reduction applications.

Comitrol models are available with a variety of cutting heads and impellers to suit particular applications. Consequently, the Comitrol Processor can be used for a wide range of food, chemical and pharmaceutical applications and can thus reduce pastes, liquids and dry products to much smaller sizes via the process of comminution. Popular applications include coarse and fine milling of peanuts for peanut butter, pureeing of fruits and vegetables for sauces and juices, pharmaceutical ointments, powders, and viscous slurries of many varieties.

Conventional methods of comminution employ some form of grinding, smashing or tearing action, which can generate excessive heat and thus degrade the quality of the finished product. The Comitrol Processor, on the other hand, follows a more revolutionary cutting principle incorporating incremental shearing by rotating the product inside a stationary reduction head at high rotational speeds. This ensures that at the end of the reduction process, the quality of the original product is preserved. Indeed, the versatile Comitrol Processor represents one of the most efficient forms of comminution available today, demonstrating its truly unique and significant qualities.

Furthermore, to ensure the correct combination of cutting parts and in order to find the most efficient solution to various needs, Urschel Laboratories offers free-of-charge test cutting of customer applications at one of their worldwide Product Test Cutting Facilities. In this way, customers are able to view the test cutting of their products and choose the machine that is best suited to their application.
