Santa Clara, CA, United States, 2010/05/17 - AccelOps, the integrated data center and cloud service monitoring leader, today announced that Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation has selected its SaaS-based, all-in-one data center management solution.
AccelOps, the integrated data center and cloud service monitoring leader, today announced that Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation has selected its SaaS-based, all-in-one data center management solution. The fully integrated platform will provide Deere-Hitachi's IT organization with centralized, cross-correlated infrastructure monitoring that extends to VMware virtualization management and security information event management (SIEM).
"AccelOps offers us an integrated platform to proactively monitor our operations with greater speed, ease and results than with the combination of tools we use today," said Trent Steele, IT supervisor at Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation. "AccelOps provides insight on every aspect of our virtual environment, network, applications and security to quickly track performance metrics and diagnose problems - delivering an astounding operational management gain over anything that we had before."
Deere-Hitachi, a joint venture between Deere & Company and Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation, designs and manufactures world-class products for the construction and forestry industry leveraging best-in-class excavator technology. The IT organization supports engineering, manufacturing and product support departments across three sites in the U.S. and Canada.
Until now, the Deere-Hitachi team has relied on a variety of different IT tools to monitor their infrastructure, which did not provide a complete view of operations and was not effective in preempting issues. Infrastructure growth, extensive use of virtualization (over 70 percent of systems) and hot site support added to management complexity.
Deere-Hitachi turned to AccelOps for a turnkey platform that provides integrated network and system management, application performance management, security information management and advanced service management functionality.
Key capabilities that figured prominently in Deere-Hitachi’s decision included:
• Strong VM monitoring: in-depth visibility into the VM layer, its relationship and movement, as well as hardware, guest OS and application layers;
• Security: AccelOps is the only integrated IT management tool that incorporates comprehensive SIEM functionality;
• Intuitive Web interface for monitoring, alerting and reporting: enables cross team member use, turnkey output and simple administrative maintenance;
• Cross-correlation: capability to define and monitor services that cross-correlates metrics and events across multiple components such as switches, firewalls, servers and applications;
• Compliance: analytics mapped to standards that streamline audit requirements such as SOX;
• SaaS-based: provides anytime, anywhere access over the Web; easier implementation; and resource-free system maintenance.
"An integrated and service-oriented approach to data center management is required to optimize resources and align IT with business requirements," said Imin Lee, CEO of AccelOps. "AccelOps all-in-one packaging and SaaS delivery brings intuitive yet advanced data center cross-correlation within reach of enterprises such as Deere-Hitachi."
