Bucks County Community College, Simmons College and the Tarrant County College purchased IData, Inc.’s Data Cookbook as a solution that will streamline business processes and enhance communication during data reporting projects.
Across the United States, college and university IT departments are challenged by the demands and needs of data reporting projects. Those who need the information – deans, provosts, etc. – often do not see reports until after the IT staff has compiled all of the appropriate data. The business process behind the compilation of information is often left untracked and forgotten, making it difficult to reproduce reports.
However, some colleges have noticed this inefficiency and are taking proactive measures to make the data reporting process as efficient and effective as possible by integrating the Data Cookbook into their data reporting process. Bucks County Community College, Simmons College and the Tarrant County College are three of these institutions.
“IData’s Data Cookbook provides an easy-to-build, easy-to-share, easy-to-audit resource for our college community,” said Mary Robbins, Associate Vice Chancellor Information Services at Tarrant County College District. “TCCD selected the Data Cookbook to document and publish the official definitions of our key terms, ensuring that we are all speaking the same language.”
Written by data reporting professionals for data reporting professionals, the Data Cookbook will save time and money by enabling colleges and universities to extract the maximum possible value from their data. By using industry best practices to improve workflow, facilitate collaboration, make existing reports more useful and improve future reports, the Data Cookbook serves as the first tool that will allow members of colleges and universities to shape their institution’s data definitions and improve the reporting process in order to create more consistency and efficiency.
“There may be a couple companies out there, but IData has clearly come to the table at the right time with the right product,” said Daniel Linstedt with BeyeNETWORK.
