The vehicles of the Conecto series (Solo and G) of EvoBus will in future drive with DIWA.5 in Turkey. Up to now, Voith was represented in Turkey with the DIWA.3E transmission in EvoBus single deckers.
The four-door articulated Conecto G is fitted with a large, straight-six engine (OM457LA). EvoBus has now approved the DIWA.5 transmission for the Conecto G. The transmission offers a significant reduction of noise levels. In order to attain this improvement, Voith Turbo has applied the latest methods and tools for simulating and testing the acoustics.
The Conecto Solo, too, can be fitted with a DIWA.5 transmission. Moreover, the Mercedes CapaCity, a nearly 20-meter-long articulated bus, is now also available with Voith automatic transmissions. For the Mercedes CapaCity, Voith also developed the LP700 air compressor.
The CapaCity is primarily targeted at Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems. BRT schemes allow large buses to move high numbers of passengers quickly through city centers on dedicated corridors or lanes. The majority of CapaCitys is currently in service in the Turkish Bosporus metropolis Istanbul.
