The CHOZEN AWARDS pulls out all the stops in time for the 2nd annual awards and cocktail reception. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Artist Trifecta Gallery in Atlantaís Castleberry Hills district.
The highly anticipated community-based awards recognize the unwavering efforts of individuals and businesses that go above and beyond the call of duty. This year in honor of Women's History Month in addition acknowledging the accomplishments of the nominees chosen by the people in the areas of business, health, music and entertainment, the CHOZEN AWARDS will also honor six dynamic women across Atlanta. The group of honorees includes, WNBA Atlanta Dream Head Coach Marynell Meadors, Georgia Institute of Technology Professor Dr. Catherine L. Ross, National Recording Artist Monica, Entrepreneurs Luisa Margarita Ayes (Festival Peachtree Latino) and Dee Dee Cocheta-Williams (A.B.C. Publicity) and Radio and Television Producer Nina Brown (Frank & Wanda Morning Show).
A special presentation will be made to this multicultural group of professionals on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 6:30 pm. at Artist Trifecta Gallery, located at 161 Mangum Street #102, Atlanta, GA 30313, in addition to the winners of the online voting taking place now until March 17 at chozenawards.com/.

Luisa Margarita Ayes, Co-founder, Hispanic Marketing Group, Inc.
A native of Puerto Rico, Margarita is currently is a co-founder of Hispanic Marketing Group, Inc., which is dedicated to linking corporate America and the Hispanic Community. She is also a co-founder of the popular and well-attended Festival Peachtree Latino. It is the largest multicultural event in the Southeast, which features hundreds of exhibitions, family activities, sporting events, parades, arts & crafts, exotic foods and outdoor musical performances showcasing renowned international musicians on two stages, located in Underground Atlanta. Margarita is committed to promoting the Hispanic culture via special events.
Nina Brown, Producer, Frank & Wanda Morning Show
In 2005, Nina Brown, a charismatic student of broadcasting began her internship at V-103 with a passion for radio and desire to inspire others. Most who hear Ninaís voice on the radio havenít had the opportunity to hear her humbling testimony of faith and sacrifice. However, it is Nina's story of faith and sacrifice that has truly defined the young professional, what attracts others to her and why she continues to succeed as the Producer of the Frank & Wanda Morning Show.
Marynell Meadors, General Manager and Head Coach, Atlanta Dream
General Manager and Head Coach Marynell Meadors makes her fourth stop in the WNBA, bringing with her more than 35 years of coaching experience. Meadors enters her second season as General Manager and Head Coach of the Dream, looking to turn around a team that finished 4-30 as an expansion team in 2008. The 2009 season was second best single season turnaround in WNBA history for Coach Meadors and the Dream, who also made playoffs in the second year of the franchise (18-16 record).
Monica, Recording Artist
Monica (born Monica Denise Arnold) is a Grammy Award winning singer and actress who has sold more than 10 million copies of her past three albums. A mother, musician and humanitarian, who as a result of her trials and tribulations Monica continues to do her part to encourage others to succeed on all levels. In September of 2009, when the floods hit Monica's hometown of Atlanta, GA, the R&B vocalist didnít hesitate to help victims by personally donating furniture and supplies to families in need.
While she remains busy on two important jobs, motherhood and her music career, Monica still finds the time to speak to and inspire young women all across the US.
Dr. Catherine L. Ross, Professor, Georgia Institute of Technology
Dr. Catherine L. Ross has extensive experience in both the public and private sector. She is Georgia Tech's College of Architecture's first endowed faculty member where she serves as Harry West Professor and directs the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development (CQGRD). In addition to her current position, she served as the first Executive Director of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority; this included negotiating an eleven-county agreement in the Atlanta area to implement the Country's first ever regional express bus service. Dr. Ross has published more than 200 articles, books, reports and monographs on transportation planning, impact assessment methods, and urban and regional planning.
Dee Dee Cocheta-Williams, CEO, A.B.C. Publicity
Dee Dee M. Cocheta is a 20 plus year veteran in the entertainment industry. She has consulted, coordinated publicity efforts for music events, conducted media training and developed marketing and PR strategies for hundreds of independent artists in addition to: Chaka Khan, KRS One, Killer Mike, Tony Terry and done media/public relations and consulting for: BET Hip-Hop Awards, Turner South, Hosea Feed The Hungry, Celebrity Chef Ashley, Chuck Dís Slamjamz Label, UniverSoul Circus and more.
Her passion continues to be speaking to upcoming music artists, empowering youth and women about getting out of difficult situations, goal building, leadership roles and entrepreneurial direction along with sharing her personal stories of dealing with the misfortunes while out of high school to later on handling sickness and depression.
